A Pleasant Town in Abruzzo Italy

Villa Santa Lucia is a comunal village in the Abruzzo Region of Italy.

Imagine a village so peaceful, that in the summer wolves come down to the piazza to drink out of the fountain. Imagine a place where the air is clear and fresh. Imagine a place dating back centuries where the people are friendly and the pace of life is relaxed. This is Villa Santa Lucia. Abruzzo…che bello!!

Surrounded by mountains and part of the National Park there is no shortage of things to do: walking, photography, cycling, painting, riding, canoeing, fishing and skiing to name but a few.  Centrally located, Villa Santa Lucia is also an ideal base to go out and visit the whole area, whether it be the towns of L’Aquila or Pescara or one of the three national parks with their well marked paths .

Why not take in a castle or two? Abruzzo has practically as many castles as sheep. Or visit a local spa town or ski resort or perhaps a trip to the beach? The cave at Stiffe, near San Demetrio ne’ Vestini is well worth a visit, visitors follow the course of an underground river, with stalactites and stalagmites and subterranean waterfalls. Whatever, you tastes if you like nature you will love Abruzzo.

And don’t forget, Villa Santa Lucia is the home of the bed and breakfast Casa Marietta.
